The After Party is a flashback to the old school days of night clubbing and the activities that followed after we closed the joint. The cd jumps off with the attitude that “I’m in the house and let’s get this party started”. I love the big horn sound of Whatever it’s the motivating force that there a party going on. The selection Happy Hour is the meet and greet (what’s up folks), you have put in a hard day on the job and now are you amongst friends.

After the party it’s time to gather your thoughts. Now it’s time to focus on the significant other. This is when Joe hits you with Guess Who Loves You More a winner in my book. The tune Alright by Ledisi is covered and I must say that it’s my favorite (Joe put his magic in this song). There is something for you steppers in Steppers Holiday, so put on your favorite shoes Chicago and Detroit you have another dj request.

I will be having fun with this cd on Mellow Madness (my radio show) with the smooth and mellow tunes Slow Jam, Smooth Ms. DJ, Find Myself in You and Femminity. There is a place in your music collection for The After Party so don’t delay get your copy soon. We (Nashville & Memphis) are proud of you and Good Hunting.

 Chante Moore

Appealing, sultry, romantic and genuine is how to describe Chante Moore. The wait for “Love the Woman” was worth every minute. I first heard the single It Ain’t Supposed To Be This Way while on vacation in DC on WHUR 96.3FM. Immediately chills ran up the ole body listing to the lyrics. This song relates to so many of us. The sweet and gentle Give Me Time has a hint of Broadway. Chante’s range is amazing with the help of George Duke on keys and (so Stevie) harmonica.

It’s so hard to take this cd out of your player. Do For You and Love The Woman are statements of love and understanding with a Chante flare. You are taken on a Bosa Nova groove with First Kiss. When you take that jazz cruise you have been planning, don’t forget to play this selection during intimate moments.

I saved this last paragraph to rant and rave over Guess Who I Saw Today. Never would I have imagined that anyone but Nancy Wilson could touch this classic. Chante you buttered the roll this time and George Duke is fantastic on the arrangement. Now I want to hear a Chante Moore Jazz cd produced by George Duke. Chalk this cd up as a classic. Be the first on your block to purchase “Love The Woman”.
