Since Phil’s days singing with the Montclair’s he has been a driving force in the music industry. It is always a pleasure listening to his vocals weather on a solo project or with a group. It pleases me to see artist like Maysa, Jeffery Osborne and now Phil Perry singing the classic songs of yesteryear. Phil kicks off Classic Love Songs with Marvin Gaye’s gem I Want You. The intro is very tight and Phil’s delivery captivates you along with the amazing Chris “Big Dog” Davis on all instruments. Another Motown classic is covered Just My Imagination on the cd. Phil does justice to this Temptation standard, it’s so smooth, relaxing and sets the mood for a great encounter with your significant other. My personal favorite is Eddie Holman’s Hey There Lonely Girl. This song will give you flashback of the days when you encountered your first love (puppy love). There are so many great songs on this cd that it is a crime if you pass it up when you shop for cd’s. This has got to be one of Phil’s finest. Check out the tracks it speaks for itself. A Mighty Love is a collaboration of great songs that takes you down memory lane. The instant you hear Just To See Her you are hooked. Not many can croon a Smokey tune and Phil is super with this Motown classic. One my favorite romantic songs of all-time is Déjà Vu and Phil is smoking with the assistance of Chris “Big Dog” Davis on all instruments. The funkiest cut on the cd is The World Is a Ghetto and I know WAR has to be happy with this version. I highly suggest that you run to your local cd store or purchase this cd from your favorite online store. Keep up the great work Phil, just like good wine you get better with time. Track Listings 1.
