Jeffery Osborne – “From the Soul” – KOCH Records
“From the Soul” is defiantly a pleasant trip thru the time tunnel. This is vintage LTD - Jeffery Osborne that you old heads knew back in the day. Choosing a favorite song is as hard as picking a flavor at Baskin Robbins. This cd is packed with great songs from years gone by. You immediately feel the vibe on the first track Close the Door. Jeffery’s rendition is so grand that I believe Teddy Pendergrass has to approve. I remember the first time I heard Yes I’m Ready preformed by Barbra Mason. It was one of the most romantic songs I heard in my teens. Jeffery’s version has to be lighting a fire with the ladies (very smooth and to the point). Jeffery injected passion into The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face; He must have realized that classic needed to be handled with tender loving care because; Roberta Flack has her signature on it. All of the songs on the cd were signature songs of the artist who preformed them. I admire Jeffery for to have taken this challenge of singing these classics we all love. This is a great stocking stuffer; buy it for a love one or yourself.
