Marilyn Scott – “Handpicked” – Prana Entertainment Marilyn Scott has been a favorite since 1978 when the album Dreams of Tomorrow was released. During that period I was listening to singers like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Valerie Carter, Chaka Khan, Phoebe Snow and Nancy Wilson. I had just finished college, started teaching school and got a part time job in a record store to support my record habit. One of my co-workers was playing the Dreams of Tomorrow album on the in store sound system. When my shift was over that album was purchased and I have been a fan since. Handpicked is a compilation of four of Marilyn’s recent cd’s. This songbird delivers songs as she was personally singing to you. I have never met her but I can feel she is a real genuine down to earth sweetheart in her music. If you do not have any of her music in your collection, you should purchase Handpicked.
