Marcus Miller “Silver Rain” KOCH Records
This one is a bottom feeders (bass lover) delight. Hard driving bass licks are present through out this project. Marcus lays it down when he covers Egar Winter “Frankenstein” and Jimi Hendrix “Power of Soul (I had a flashback on those two). The cd also has a soft side when Marcus covers his versions of Duke Ellington’s “Sophisticated Lady” and Brenda Russell’s “If Only for One Night” two great classics. This cd also has music written by Marcus, “La Villette” vocals preformed by Lalah Hathaway and “Bruce Lee” a martial art selection dedicated to the King of Kung Fu.
